The idea for the name “Praxis” came from the goal of the company to be intentional in design by: following sound design principles and theory, spending careful time to consider client needs, studying the site and its surroundings, and communicating the design intent to subcontractors and craftsmen to bring idea or concept all the way through the built project.

Praxis is the process of taking theory and moving it into practice. It is the process of design and construction that has existed for thousands of years. It is proactive, not merely reactive. Architecturally, it is based on the idea that quality time spent in design will lead to a better built solution that will satisfy the client in ways that surpass their own vision.
